This product lists 300 mg of bacopa (Bacopa monnieri). Bacopa may add to the drowsiness of sedatives, and it slows several liver enzymes in the test tube, so check it against anything you are prescribed. Ask your doctor first if you take a cholinesterase inhibitor for dementia (donepezil, rivastigmine, galantamine) or an anticholinergic, if you take thyroid medication or have an overactive thyroid, or if you have a slow heart rate, asthma, COPD or an ulcer. There is no safety data in pregnancy or breastfeeding. The commonest complaints in trials were stomach upset — nausea, cramps, looser or more frequent stools — and a dry mouth.
