What This Test Measures
Fasting Insulin
The level of insulin, the hormone that moves sugar into your cells, after a period without eating.
Fasting Glucose
The amount of sugar in your blood after a period without eating.
Average Blood Sugar (HbA1c)
Your average blood sugar over roughly the past two to three months.
AST (Aspartate Aminotransferase)
An enzyme found in the liver, heart and muscles.
ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase)
An enzyme found mainly in the liver.
GGT (Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase)
An enzyme found mainly in the liver, and also in the kidneys and pancreas.
Lipase
A digestive enzyme from the pancreas that breaks down dietary fat.
Creatinine
A waste product of normal muscle activity, filtered out by the kidneys.
eGFR (Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate)
An estimate of how much blood your kidneys filter each minute, calculated from creatinine.
